Chris Sloan; Allegany Arts Council
We were privileged enough to speak to Chris Sloan director of the Allegany Arts Council. We discussed some of the annual events that the Arts Council hosts; including the Art Sale and Tour featuring 24 local artists and their studios over two weekends. (October 17-18 and 24-25) The Arts Council offers opportunities to local and national artists to exhibit in their galleries. Chris discusses where he envisions our local arts community in the upcoming years. Chris is excited for the Arts Council to help spearhead some excellent opportunities for new upcoming artists and helping nurture the already vibrant existing community. Michael H. Thompson, Special Effects Photographer and Painter
Michael Thompson is a digital artist, photographer and painter. He has been exposed to art his entire life while growing up in Cumberland, MD. After graduating from Frostburg State University with a Bachelor’s of Art (Graphic Design) he moved out of the area and has returned with an appetite for creating fine art. Starting in 2011 Michael started to create pieces for local juried art shows. Subsequent to having a few years of luck in those shows and some encouragement, he decided to make his first series.
